OEM or COMPAT or REMAN

OEM or Original Equipment Manufacturers cartridges are the ones that came with your printer. Sometimes the printers ship with low capacity versions of the cartridges or toners to keep the initial buy price down so you have to replace the first set more quickly than usual. They are "branded" the same name as the printer manufacturer and are the most expensive option.

If there is an equivalent version of the cartridge to fit your machine it will be either a compatible or remanufactured version of the cartridge. Not all printers have third party versions available. It depends on whether the cartridges are available in the market place or whether they can be successfully remanufactured in sufficient volumes to make it viable. This means there must be a supply of empty cartridges.

The colorjet range of compatible cartridges for Brother, Canon, Epson, Xerox, etc are COMPATIBLE cartridges. They are new cartridges not refilled ones usually from China and tested before being placed on the market to ensure the inks work as well as the more expensive OEM product.

The ALPHAJET range of REMANUFACTURED inkjet cartridges are cartridges that have been collected, cleaned, refilled and tested to ensure they perform as well as the OEM product. They are guaranteed to perform as well as the original or they will be exchanged without quibble.

The TINTO range of REMANUFACTURED laser cartridges are collected, stripped, fitted with new drums and other components, filled with new toner and tested to ensure they perform. The guarantee that comes with each TINTO cartridge is for the entire toner life of the cartridge - once installed the guarantee lasts as long as the toner!!!
